This Amphipak has 2 waterproof zipper compartments. One is for the main large compartment for warm dry clothing, food, and other articles you need to keep dry. The second compartment is the 4 liter top pouch for food, medical kit, gloves, sunglasses, camera, or other small items you want to be more accessible without opening the main pouch. There is also an accessory (sold separately) third waterproof compartment called the "Phone Pouch" which is a small zippered compartment that is detachable or added to your pack belt or shoulder strap to more easily access your cell phone or emergency rescue alert device.

The backpack pad has an upper zipper compartment which is not waterproof so you can slide your water bladder in and zip around it and not have to enter the main pack to insert it. This compartment needs zippered closed around the tube leaving the water bladder on either upper side that you wish to have the tubing access from to minimize the water that gets into this compartment. You may need to pack upside down on occasion to rid this compartment of the little water that manages to get in it.

The belt can be unvelcroed and put in either the upper belt loop position or the lower belt loop position depending on your torso length.

The small waterproof upper 4 liter pouch can be loosened on both sides front and back to allow for a rope back to fit between it and the main pack pouch and pulled tight around it. You may want to put an additional closable strap clip through the upper pack loop and the tightened webbing on each side of the pack to further prevent the rope back from sliding down the front of the pack.

The top, bottom, and front pack loops are made to hang your wet harness after you are done, from top to bottom or across the front of the pack so it can dry as your hiking back so as not to get any dry pack contents wet inside. Also, slings and other wet items can be hung from these loops when canyoneering for easier access.

There is no internal frame on this pack as it is created to be a light waterproof pack and intended only for short day hikes. Rigidness of the pack can be created by closing the zipper with air in the pack which will keep it straight and able to sit well upright.

Care Instructions:

Amphipak comes to you waterproof when used properly; as long as you take care of your pack it will remain water sealed.

Important:
The waterproof zippers must be carefully and fully closed, pulled to the end and sealed shut with the last little friction tug. Always slowly and smoothly move the slider as straight as possible when fastening the zipper Angular pulling may cause element miss-engagement and may
result in poor waterproof performance or damage of the slider and/or teeth. Pulled angular and donned or doffed not fully open, the zipper slider may disintegrate from teeth. Pay attention not to overstretch the slider by force. It has not been tested in freezing cold conditions, specifically in Ice or snow where the zipper may freeze or not be closable, zipper may break under extreme cold conditions beyond what standard dry suit zippers are able to endure. This pack comes with no warranty whether expressed or implied.

Do not over stuff your pack as too much internal pressure directly on the zipper may cause it to fail.

Caution: This pack is air tight and poses a hazard or risk to babies, young children and animals as with any air tight container so keep closed when not in use.
